Prof. Cheboi Yegon
Prof. Cheboi Yegon is the Dean School of Business & Economics at Moi University. The school has four departments (Accounting & Finance, Economics, Marketing & Logistics and Management Science & Entrepreneurship) with a student population of over 3,000 active students. He is a specialist in Finance with research interest in informal finance and strategy. The interest in strategy was instrumental in the development of a Center for Strategic Leadership Development (CSLD) with the aim of leadership training and induction training of university staff, a missing aspect of Kenyan Universities landscape. The center undertakes research support for early career researchers, grand writing technical support, incubation, business development services and professional consultancy services. Prof. Cheboi was an invited guest to international think tank conference christened international think tank network of infrastructure development where he made submissions on geopolitical dynamics and regional cooperation in East Africa that has shaped discussions on EA-Belt and Road future plans. He is the chairman of Moi University Strategic plan review and development committee that has seen the university focus on becoming a sustainable and entrepreneurial university in the current plan period. He has used his vast experience in technical education to spearhead the establishment of Moi University TVET institute. Prof. Cheboi has supervised many graduate students with over 18 PhD graduates and over 50 publications in referred journals. He is a reviewer in Cogent Business and Management journal. After earning his doctorate in Finance in 2015, he headed the Department of Accounting and Finance from 2016 to 2019. Prof. Cheboi studied Education in Accounting & Economics (1999) followed by MBA finance (2011) after long service in teaching at the secondary school and later at TVET level and now University level rising through the ranks.

Prof. Modimowabarwa Kanyane
Prof. Modimowabarwa Kanyane is the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Management, Commerce & Law at the University of Venda and former Research Director at the Human Sciences Research Council. Prof Kanyane is a renowned governance expert who obtained his doctoral degree in Administration from the University of Pretoria. He received a Certificate in International Economic and Financial Negotiations from the L'Institut International d'Administration Publique in France and a Platinum Financial Services Board. Prof Kanyane scooped the UNIVEN Vice Chancellor Award for publishing many 2022 research outputs units, two HSRC Senior Research Excellence Awards and recipient of the 2022 Star of Discovery Global Award, World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for Asia and the Pacific region under UNESCO's auspices as the Smart Village and 4iR case study winner together with Prof Mzo Sirayi. The NRF has awarded him a C-2 rating for making strides in the Public Administration discipline. Prof Kanyane is a member of the Council of the University of Mpumalanga and the Council on Higher Education. He also participated in BRICS activities and various 4iR discussions. He participated in several international conferences and was a keynote speaker and international guest professor at Zhejiang International Business School (ZIBS).One of his highlights at ZIBS was his well-received public lecture on “The BRICS in Africa promoting development: China Africa Co-operation”. His most recent groundbreaking research, "Ethics and Governance in South Africa," and the edited volumes, "Culture and Rural-Urban Revitalization in South Africa" by Routledge and “The BRICS in Africa Promoting Development?”by HSRC Press, are evidence of groundbreaking research work by Prof Kanyane. Among other milestones, Prof Kanyane is leading the Faculty in establishing UNIVEN Graduate Business School and accreditation of the Executive MBA programme through his local and international networks in the US, UK and the global South.
